For over 10 years Robert Benson has been a steady presence on the Sonoma County Art scene, he currently resides in Kenwood, and has built a strong body of Northern California landscapes including vineyard and still life scenes.

Bob came to Northern California in 2001 from Colorado where he was a successful art director and graphic designer for 25 years. His new works reflect an expanded range of new subject matter, and even greater painting skill level, inspired by his recent months of private study with master watercolorist Dick Cole.

Benson now is represented by the Art House Gallery in downtown Glen Ellen, CA. and plans a one man show at Charles Creek Winery’s tasting room in downtown Sonoma: April and May 2012. Past shows have included solo exhibitions at various Valley of the Moon wineries and art venues, including The Fig Cafe, Art at the Source Open Studios Tour in Sebastopol, and Artist Showcase series at the Plaza Arts Center in Healdsburg, CA. In January 2009 he sold 8 framed pieces for installation at the Mayacama Golf Club Residences. “ Pomegranate Party”, an original watercolor, was accepted into the 2011 California Watercolor Association’s Annual National exhibit in Ross, CA.
